Poetry act many things to my mood.
It gently rolls my mood to a fluffy peace.
It takes a walk with my mood to a calm lake.
It grasps my mood tight flying in center of excitement.
It sends a gift filled with joyous and happiness.
It soaks my mood’s pillow and locks me in a sorrow.
It beats my mood and gives a sandbag of anger!

Narrative poem - Mother
I live in a doorway between two rooms.
In one room, I am a baby,
unable to talk, Have no power,
have no idea about the world.
In my hand, holding a bottle.
I realized that there is always a woman around me
and comes to me whenever I want her.
“Hungry!” I cry, than she refills the bottle
and wipe my massy mouse.
“Sleepy!” I cry, than she sings lullaby
with her soft voice and rocks me in her warm arms
“Ouch!” I cry, than she runs to me in a hurry
with shocking face.
“Mommy!” I cry, than she comes to me
with holding up the open arms to hug me
with a sweet whisper, “I love you” and give a smooth kiss.
I crawl toward to
the other door peaking inside,
There, you see me lying on a bed with my husband,
waking up by hearing a baby’s cry.
“Wah, wah!” than I realize that she’s hungry,
so I refill her bottle and wipe her face.
“Wah, wah!” than I realize that she’s sleepy,
so I sing a lullaby with rocking her in my arms.
“Wah, wah!” than I suddenly notice that something’s
Wrong with her, I get shocked.
“Wah, wah!” than I know that she wants to play with me
so I hug her and whisper, “I love you” and kiss her.

Definition Essay
Winter
Last few million years ago, there was a period of time when everyday was winter, freezing everything on Earth called “Ice age”. Generally, winter is the coldest season of the year between autumn and spring which is constituted by December, January, and February except countries at southern hemisphere like Australia where it has opposite seasons. Since it is the last season of four seasons, it has definition of decline, decay, and wane. Also, because winter is very cold, it means the period of time of coldness, barrenness, misery, and death. In this essay, I will explain what winter is, it’s description, comparison, negation, origin, causes, results and usage.
The origin of the word, “winter” comes from Germany which means “time of water”. The water represents rain and snow which refers to low temperature. This word became English in c888. How is winter created? In Greece Roman mythology, Persephone, who is daughter of Demeter (Goddess of grain and ground), was kidnapped by Hades, the God of underground and hell to make her his wife. She had to live in underground with Hades since she ate three pomegranate seeds. But for Zeus judgment, she can live half of the year outside which became summer and the other half inside
which also became winter. I didn’t know this word has such a sad mythology.
In scientific word, the Earth revolves around the sun standing on slanted angle of 23.5 degree. Since it has slanted angle, the thermal energy per area from the sun is decreased. In other word, as thermal energy spreads out, the temperature becomes lower than that in summer. That's how winter gets created. As people usually recognize, in winter, temperature usually falls down below zero degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Fahrenheit. All the lakes and most of water freeze to ice with snow and winds blowing strong and hard. People tend to wear thick cloths and get heated in the warm house.
In my personal experience, to compare this word to other words, I think winter is a crisis. In other word, winter is a thorny and tough hill in the way of people’s path that we must go over with. In a year, we get to spend through four seasons. Spring, summer and fall, have either warm days or cool days that is very comfortable and cozy. However, winter, the last season we get to meet, has freezing days. The weather freezes water into the ice, wind blow strong, it also gives us cold snow which harms many people. Also, in winter, there are no plants and vegetable life growing so people will have less food. All of these are risk that we must face against in order to survive
during the winter. But after the pain, spring comes back and we would meet another safe time.
To negate the word winter, it is not playing beach ball staring at bikinied girls. It is not peace that we enjoy in a warm cozy weather. Also, winter is not putting sun cream on skin thinking about playing in cool swimming pool with excitement in a hot summer day. Let it be stated here that it is not eating watermelon with drinking iced cool-aid enjoying sun ten. Winter has no worries of melting ice cream. It can’t be situation wearing only underwear in house having air conditional on.
For the usage of the winter, there are a lot of exciting sports, thankful holidays, and beautiful constellation. One of the great winter sports that make people forget about the coldness is ski. Also ice-skating is one of a greatest sport. Many children like to go sledding feeling joyous. In winter, there are a lot of holidays too. Thanksgiving is holiday when people celebrate the end of harvest. Christmas is most famous holiday in winter which is Jesus’ birthday. For starting a New Year, there’s another most known holiday in the world called New Year. For winter constellation, you can see Cancer, Canis Major, Crater, Gemini, Hydra, Leo, Lynx, Monoceros, Orion, etc, at night.
In conclusion, winter, the last season in the year, have shortest and coldest day on December, January and February. It snows and freezes in winter. In these days, scientist discovered that the Earth is on dangerous situation called “Global Warming”. This nature disaster is caused by environmental pollution which makes average of temperature increase. In the other word, the Earth is getting hotter and hotter. In soon enough, there might be a time when winter disappears. To prevent this, we should get as less pollution as we can. How do we pollute the environment less? Well, I am pretty sure that you learned at school. So let’s try not to pollute the air and save the Earth so we can always greet our winter!

How to make teachers love you
Do you have any problem with your teacher? If you are a good student, go read other writing. But if you are a student and teacher doesn’t like you, you’ve got the right writing. If you have a dictionary, add a word, ‘SLANT’, meaning ‘a way to make teachers love you.’ In this essay, I am going to explain how to SLANT and tell you the steps of it to make your teachers love you.
The first step of the SLANT is to sit up straight. You get tired easily when you bend your back which means that it’s good for your health. Also, if you bend your back, you look like a gangster and teacher won’t like that. But if you sit up straight, you look like you are always ready to learn.
If you are already good at sitting up, you can lean forward a little, which is next step. This kind of feels like as if you are listening more carefully to teacher. When you lean forward, about 75 degree is perfect. Not too much tilted, not right 90 degree. These two steps are position behavior that you should take during the class.
If you are all good at position behavior, you are ready to go to next step, which is asking questions. It makes sort of conversation between you and teacher. When you ask question during the class, raise your hand with a slanted angle, and make a little wave which gets your teachers attention. Also, there is an important tip; don’t ask questions when your teacher is talking. Ask when they are done with talking.
Fourth step, nodding head is a good way. It will make teacher thinks that you are listening clearly and understand exactly what they are teaching. But, if you do it too repeatedly or wildly, teacher might think if you have some kind of problem with your neck so do it appropriately.
Last step, which is most important process for way of being a good student, is taking notes. When you take notes, most of teachers think that you are eager to learn, have passionate mind on studying. Also, there are few times when teachers ask you about the topic that they are teaching. If you write notes, you are always ready to answer the questions. But you have to take notes with listening to teachers. You shouldn’t concentrate too much on notes because you may miss teacher’s words.

I will tell you a great secret; teachers, they are not monsters! They are humans who have feeling just like us! Unbelievable isn’t it?
